One component in the pearl pendant we never compromise on is the quality of the pearls we use and set in our pearl pendant range. When determining the quality of the pearls in the pearl pendant, there are five values often known as the virtues of pearls. These are size, shape, colour, lustre, cleanliness of skin.

The most frequently seen and used shape for pendants is the drop or oval shape but this is not always the case. shape, size, colour are all choices particular  to the pearl customer. Every pearl pendant is unique, just as every customer who selects a pearl pendant is unique.

As for colour of the pearl selected to be set in a pearl pendant, one  can select cultured pearls  from the whitest of pearls from Australian cultured pearls or Indonesian cultured pearls through to the more silver colours and tones also produced in Australian pearls and Indonesian pearls by pearl farmers working with the Pinctada Maxima oyster. Then there is the champagne and yellow and cream tones of the Burmese cultured  pearls and the  rich golden tones of Philippine cultured pearls.  All these countries farmers work with the species of oyster named Pinctada Maxima in order  to work side by side with Nature which creates these beautiful cultured pearls. All look magnificent when set as a pearl pendant, colour being a totally personal choice, so there is not one colour better or superior to another. Visit Here:  eblogz

Japan produces white cultured pearls, champagne coloured cultured pearls and blue cultured pearls from the akoya cultured pearl oyster Pinctada Fucata.  A staple of the pearl business since cultured pearls originated in Japan over one hundred years ago, brought to the worlds attention by famed and legendary pearl man Kokichi Mikimoto. Akoya pearl pendants are simple and timeless and elegant examples of pearl jewellery.

China produces freshwater cultured pearls in natural colours of white, pink, purple and apricot and blue. Chinese freshwater pearls with their stunning colours allow us to create some very lovely freshwater pearl pendants in our pearl jewellery line.

French Polynesia and The Cook Islands produce beautiful black, brown, blue, green, silver, pistachio, aubergine and reddish shades of black pearls from the Pinctada Margaritifera oyster. A black pearl pendant is a beautiful item of pearl jewellery.

We have suggested that size and shape and colour are three virtues completely to the taste and style and preference of the purchaser or wearer of the pearl pendant, but we ask you not to compromise on lustre and surface cleanliness of skin which are the fourth and fifth pearl virtues respectively.

Lustre is considered one of the most important virtues of the pearl to be set in our Aquarian Pearls range of pearl pendants , and the more nacre coating the pearl has then the more lustrous the pearl herself will be. Cultured pearls are a bit like onions in that they have layers and layers of nacre and the importance of good strong  shine and lustre cannot be over estimated.

Lastly skin complexion is a factor in determining the value and quality of a pearl pendant and the cleaner the pearl the better when it comes to pearl pendants. The pearl set in your pendant  should ideally be eye clean with minimal surface marks or spots or flaws . Roughly ten per cent of the  pearls in a South sea pearl harvest set clean in jewellery and are of high enough quality for Aquarian Pearls to use in the manufacture of our range of pearl pendants.

Whatever you choice of pearl pendant, we wish you well to wear it, and assure you a pearl pendant will be a magnificent addition to your pearl jewellery collection.
